There may have been a mix up at this year’s 89th Academy Awards, but Barry Jenkins, the director of Best Picture winner “Moonlight”, had no such confusion when it came to filming some scenes.
In essence, he wanted “Moonlight” to reflect the look of “In The Mood For Love”.
Of course, as all Hong Kongers know, that film was directed by the city’s own Wong Kar Wai back in 2000.
One YouTuber by the name of Alessio Marinacci went so far as to put together a side by side comparison of Moonlight and Wong Kar Wai’s films.
The comparisons are striking. Put one on the scorecard for the home team…
